An excellent online exhibit shares powerful stories of Judy Heumann, Jermaine Greaves, Denise McQuade and others using engaging objects and images from the compelling exhibit Activist New York at the Museum of the City of New York - 1220 Fifth Avenue at 103rd Street, opposite Central Park. Highlights of the in-person presentation on disability rights include posters, video, and–my favorite–a bullhorn used in the street protests. New York played a vital role in campaigns for access and for equal rights for disabled Americans. Disability Rights appears in the context of activism for a wide range of political and social causes. - Rich Cairn, Emerging America
